Considering that the prior art of utilizing CT inspection technology to carry out muscle delineation mainly depends on manual or semi-manual methods, the method consumes a large amount of manpower, has large individual difference of manual operation, is easy to fatigue, has poor standard consistency in different areas, has heavy data quantification work, and is not beneficial to the development of the muscle delineation measurement work. The embodiment of the invention provides a method, a system, electronic equipment and a machine storage medium for delineating a muscle image, which can quickly and accurately realize measurement of muscle segmentation parameter information of a three-dimensional medical image, thereby improving the processing efficiency of the medical image (image) aiming at the muscle and reducing the labor cost.

For convenience of understanding, firstly, a detailed description is given to a muscle CT image delineation method provided by an embodiment of the present invention, referring to a schematic flow chart of the muscle CT image delineation method shown in fig. 1, the method mainly includes the following steps S102 to S106:

and S102, preprocessing the acquired muscle CT image to obtain a preprocessed muscle image sequence.

The acquired muscle CT image is a CT image acquired by using a Computed Tomography (CT) image inspection technology, and the muscle CT image is an originally acquired three-dimensional medical image.

In order to ensure the accuracy of the positioning identification and the segmentation processing of the subsequent muscle CT image, the preprocessing operation may include performing data sampling processing on the acquired muscle CT image and extracting the region including the region to be processed in the muscle CT image, so that the accuracy of the subsequent positioning segmentation can be ensured by the muscle image sequence obtained after the preprocessing.

The muscle image sequence is a three-dimensional medical image sequence, namely the three-dimensional medical image after preprocessing operation. The muscle image sequence may be a slice sequence in a CT three-dimensional image, and the slice sequence in the CT three-dimensional image may include a sequence of medical images with various slice intervals, different slice numbers, and various CT resolutions.

And step S104, positioning and identifying the muscle image sequence in the CT sagittal position to obtain a sagittal position positioning image of the target muscle.

The target muscle includes a muscle or a muscle group at a designated position. The positioning identification is executed by inputting the muscle image sequence into a positioning neural network which is trained in advance. The pre-trained positioning neural network adopts the ideas of convolution, pooling, full connection and coding and decoding, and the specific network structure is determined according to the characteristics of tests and medical image sequences.

The obtained muscle positioning image is a two-dimensional medical image which is a CT slice, namely the CT slice is determined through a positioning neural network so as to carry out subsequent analysis processing on the CT slice.

And S106, carrying out segmentation processing on the muscle positioning image to obtain a segmentation result aiming at the muscle image.

The muscle positioning image obtained in the mode is input into the image segmentation neural network, so that an accurate segmentation result can be obtained. The segmented neural network may include a modified U-net neural network or may be a modified Full Convolutional Network (FCN). The segmentation result comprises a plurality of muscle parameters, wherein the muscle parameters comprise muscle cross-sectional area, muscle area index, average CT value and muscle fat infiltration degree. It can be understood that the segmentation result can also be automatically delineated for different muscle parameters of the muscle image to obtain the area of each segmented region.

The segmentation result obtained by segmenting the image segmentation neural network can replace the work of artificial muscle delineation, and because the muscle section is positioned and the muscle is segmented by adopting the mode of combining the two neural networks of the positioning neural network and the image segmentation neural network, the efficiency of intelligent identification and the accuracy of segmentation can be improved, the requirement of end-to-end identification by adopting a three-dimensional neural network on a three-dimensional medical image is overcome, and the accuracy of segmentation of the muscle image is improved.

According to the muscle CT image delineation method provided by the embodiment of the invention, the muscle parameters including the muscle cross-sectional area, the muscle area index, the average CT value and the muscle fat infiltration degree are obtained by performing positioning identification and segmentation treatment on the treated muscle image, and the muscle segmentation parameter information measurement of the three-dimensional medical image can be rapidly and accurately realized, so that the treatment efficiency of the medical image (image) aiming at the muscle is improved, and the labor cost is reduced.

In one embodiment, to ensure that the quality of the input to the positioning neural network meets the requirement of positioning segmentation, the acquired muscle CT images are first preprocessed to obtain a muscle image sequence. In specific implementation, the following steps 2.1) to 2.3) may be employed:

step 2.1), resampling the muscle CT image to obtain a resampled muscle CT image; the muscle CT image comprises a plurality of image images of the vertebral body level;

step 2.2), extracting an interested area of the resampled muscle CT image to obtain a muscle area image; the muscle area image comprises a muscle area to be segmented;

and 2.3) carrying out normalization processing on the muscle area image to obtain a muscle image sequence.

Aiming at the step 2.1), when resampling is performed, the resampling can be performed according to a preselected sampling interval, so as to ensure the data sampling quality of the muscle CT image.

In addition, the CT mode adopted may be thoracic CT, abdominal CT, lumbar CT, or pelvic CT, and the vertebral bodies of the image images at the multiple vertebral body levels may be T4 (thoracic vertebra), T8-T12 (thoracic vertebra), L1-L5 (vertebra), S1 (lumbar vertebra).

As for the step 2.2), the region of interest extraction may be a way of selecting a fixed slice region in different types of CT images, and by performing the extraction of the slice region, it is ensured that the muscle region image includes a muscle region to be segmented. The muscle region to be segmented needs to contain an accurate segmentation area for segmentation, so that a complete and accurate segmentation result can be obtained during subsequent segmentation.

In addition, the present embodiment provides another specific example of muscle CT image preprocessing, which first processes the acquired muscle image and determines the reference axis. Taking CT image as an example, taking normalized DICOM image as a starting point, detecting and segmenting the spine, the cone is segmented into independent units, taking cranio-caudal longitudinal axis as a direction, and a scaled reference axis can be formed, which includes a threshold range, morphological characteristics, and the like. This reference axis is formed for positioning to the correct level of the cone in preparation for muscle segmentation.

Furthermore, the uncompressed DICOM data is preprocessed by the medical image module processing platform and converted into data which can be directly input to the positioning neural network of the embodiment for processing. The collected data are processed in advance, target muscles are artificially outlined, a standard database is made, the standard database is randomly divided into 5 subsets to be analyzed, wherein 4 subsets are set as training sets, 1 subset is set as a test set, and a deep learning system formed by a positioning neural network and a dividing neural network is trained by adopting a 5-fold cross test, so that the muscles are divided. By the method, muscle segmentation is carried out on a plurality of cones horizontally, segmentation precision is analyzed, and the spatial overlapping degree between manual segmentation and automatic segmentation is measured.

Further, after the muscle image sequence is obtained, the muscle image sequence can be input into a pre-trained positioning neural network, and the muscle image sequence is positioned and identified in the CT sagittal position based on the pre-trained positioning neural network, so that a muscle positioning image is obtained. Wherein, fat CT value range: -190 to-30 Hu; muscle CT value range: -29-150 Hu. Obtaining muscle cross-sectional area (m) by simple muscle area/automatic segmentation after removing fat2/m2)。
