Background

The vortex worm is a flat animal phylum, has positive reaction to food and avoids strong light when stimulating light, and is weak light and stronger in night activities than in daytime. There are two modes of reproduction of the volunteer, of which asexual reproduction usually occurs in summer with transverse division, the division plane of which often occurs behind the pharynx. The rear end of the worm body is adhered to the bottom hook during splitting, the front end moves forwards until the worm body is broken into two halves, and then the lost halves are respectively regenerated to form 2 new individuals. Some small-sized volunteers, after several divisions, the new individuals are not immediately separated, and are connected with each other to form an insect body chain, and when the larvae grow to a certain extent, they are separated from each other to live independently. Sexual reproduction is mainly carried out in the end of autumn and in winter, but is slightly different in different regions.

The regeneration capacity of the vortex worm is particularly strong, so that the vortex worm is a good material for researching cell differentiation and dedifferentiation molecular mechanisms, animal behaviors and chromosomes, and is always an enthusiastic research field in the animal world.
