Background
In the field of display technology, the technology of flat panel displays has developed to the greatest extent, but with the rapid development of display technology, displays of other types (e.g., curved displays, foldable displays, etc.) have been developed in succession to meet the diversified demands of users. Compared with a flat display, the curved-surface display has the advantages of wider visual angle range, wider visual field, strong stereoscopic impression, vivid picture and smooth and attractive arc-shaped appearance, thereby endowing a user with better visual experience effect.
The conventional curved display is generally formed by combining a conventional flat display panel and a curved backlight assembly, and among the curved displays, the most widely used flat display panel is a Vertical Alignment (VA) type liquid crystal display panel. It is found that after the conventional VA-type liquid crystal display panel is bent, two sides of the bent area of the conventional VA-type liquid crystal display panel may have obvious "black clusters", which causes the problem of overall display brightness nonuniformity (Mura), thereby adversely affecting the display quality of the curved-surface type display.
Therefore, it is necessary to develop a liquid crystal display panel, a method for manufacturing the liquid crystal display panel, and a curved-surface display to improve the "black cloud" problem of the conventional curved-surface display.

In the description of the present application, it is to be understood that the terms "upper", "lower", "horizontal", "vertical", "one side", and the like, indicate orientations or positional relationships based on the orientations or positional relationships shown in the drawings, are only for convenience in describing the present application and simplifying the description, and do not indicate or imply that the referred device or element must have a specific orientation, be constructed in a specific orientation, and be operated, and thus, should not be construed as limiting the present application.
The terms "first", "second" and "first" are used for descriptive purposes only and are not to be construed as indicating or implying relative importance or implicitly indicating the number of technical features indicated. Thus, features defined as "first", "second", may explicitly or implicitly include one or more of the described features. In the description of the present application, "a plurality" means two or more unless specifically limited otherwise.
The term "pretilt angle" refers to an acute angle formed between the long axis of the liquid crystal molecules and the vertical direction after the self-aligned liquid crystal material in the liquid crystal display panel is aligned by illumination to form a liquid crystal layer. In the embodiments and the experimental examples of the present application, the "first pretilt angle α" refers to an acute included angle formed between a long axis of a liquid crystal molecule on a side of the liquid crystal layer close to the array substrate and a vertical direction; the second pretilt angles β are all acute included angles formed between the long axes of the liquid crystal molecules on the side close to the opposite substrate in the liquid crystal layer and the vertical direction.
The term "angular rate" refers to the time required for irradiation of ultraviolet light for every 1 degree (1 °) change in the acute angle between liquid crystal molecules and the vertical direction in the photoalignment process using ultraviolet light under the following conditions: the illumination wavelength is 270nm to 380nm, and the illumination intensity is 0.5mW/cm2To 0.7mW/cm2. In the embodiment of the present application, the angle rate is characterized by seconds/degrees, and fast angle rate means that the angle rate is in a range of 40 seconds/degree or faster, and slow angle rate means that the angle rate is in a range of 70 seconds/degree or slower. In addition, in the embodiment of the present application, the illumination conditions of the ultraviolet light are as follows: the illumination wavelength is 313 nanometers, and the illumination intensity is 0.5mW/cm2。
Neither the terms "slower than" nor "faster than" include the essential numbers.
The term "fast-reacting photo-alignment material" refers to a class of materials that use photo-alignment techniques to induce the liquid crystal molecules to rapidly form a pre-tilt angle. In the examples of the present application, the light intensity was 0.5mW/cm at a wavelength of 313 nm2The fast reaction photo-alignment material is capable of inducing an angle rate of the first pretilt angle α to be faster than or equal to 40 seconds/degree under the irradiation of ultraviolet light.
The term "slow-reacting photoalignment material" refers to a class of materials that use photoalignment techniques to induce the liquid crystal molecules to slowly form a pretilt angle. In the examples of the present application, the light intensity was 0.5mW/cm at a wavelength of 313 nm2Under the irradiation of the ultraviolet light of (1),the slow-reaction type photo-alignment material enables the angular rate of the first pretilt angle alpha to be slower than or equal to 70 seconds/degree.
The term "above" and the term "below" both encompass the present number.
The term "black cluster" refers to a pixel dark fringe phenomenon generated by a liquid crystal display panel, and the abnormal alignment of liquid crystal molecules is a main cause of the generation of the "black cluster", specifically: as shown in fig. 1, the liquid crystal layer 3 includes a first region 301 and a second region 302, before the liquid crystal layer 3 is powered on, the arrangement of the liquid crystal molecules in the first region 301 and the arrangement of the liquid crystal molecules in the second region 302 are symmetrical about the Y axis, and the deflection angles and the deflection directions of all the liquid crystal molecules in the first region 301 are consistent, and the deflection angles and the deflection directions of all the liquid crystal molecules in the second region 302 are consistent, so that the liquid crystal layer 3 is powered on without the problem of liquid crystal deflection disorder, and the brightness of each region is consistent; as shown in fig. 2, after the VA-mode lcd panel is bent, because the upper substrate 101 and the lower substrate 102 are bent differently, the upper substrate 101 and the lower substrate 102 will be displaced relatively to each other, resulting in misalignment of liquid crystal molecules in different regions, and further causing abnormal liquid crystal alignment, that is, in the region a, the liquid crystal molecules near the upper substrate 101 and the liquid crystal molecules near the lower substrate 102 will be deflected in opposite directions, so that the liquid crystal layer 3 will be disturbed after being energized, and further, dark streaks of pixels will be generated, which is characterized as "black clusters".
The application provides a liquid crystal display panel which can be applied to a curved-surface type display to solve the problem of black clusters existing in the conventional curved-surface type display. As shown in fig. 3, the liquid crystal display panel 100 includes an array substrate 1, a counter substrate 2, a liquid crystal layer 3, and an alignment layer 4, wherein the array substrate 1 and the counter substrate 2 are disposed opposite to each other, the liquid crystal layer 3 is sandwiched between the array substrate 1 and the counter substrate 2, and the alignment layer 4 is disposed on a side of the array substrate 1 close to the liquid crystal layer 3.
Specifically, the array substrate 1 may be disposed on a side of the liquid crystal display panel 100 away from the light emitting side, and a Thin Film Transistor (TFT) is integrated on the array substrate 1. The type of the array substrate is not particularly limited, and can be selected according to actual needs.
The array substrate 1 may be disposed on the light exit side of the liquid crystal display panel 100. The opposite substrate 2 may be a Color Filter (CF) substrate or a substrate not including a Color Filter, and in this case, a Color film layer may be disposed on the array substrate 1.
As an example, as shown in fig. 3 and fig. 4, the Array substrate 1 is a Color Filter On Array (COA) Array substrate, and the Array substrate 1 includes a first substrate 11, a TFT layer 12, a Color photoresist layer 13, and a pixel electrode layer 14, where the TFT layer 12 is disposed On the first substrate 11, the Color photoresist layer 13 is disposed On a side of the TFT layer away from the first substrate 11, and the pixel electrode layer 14 is disposed On a side of the Color photoresist layer 13 away from the TFT layer.
The material of the first substrate 11 is glass. The first substrate 11 is predefined with a plurality of red sub-pixel regions 111, a plurality of blue sub-pixel regions 112 and a plurality of green sub-pixel regions 113, all the sub-pixel regions are predefined to be arranged in a matrix on the first substrate 11, and a red sub-pixel region 111, a blue sub-pixel region 112 and a green sub-pixel region 113 form a pixel unit 10.
The TFT layer 12 includes a plurality of TFTs arranged in a matrix form, and each TFT corresponds to a sub-pixel region. Each TFT is of a bottom gate type structure comprising: a gate electrode 121 disposed on the first substrate 11, a gate insulating layer 122 disposed on the first substrate 11 and covering the gate electrode 121, a semiconductor layer 123 disposed on the gate insulating layer 122, and a source electrode 124 and a drain electrode 125 disposed on the semiconductor layer 123.
The color photoresist layer 13 includes a plurality of red resistors 131, a plurality of blue resistors 132 and a plurality of green resistors 133, the position of the red resistor 131 corresponds to the red sub-pixel region 111, the position of the blue resistor 132 corresponds to the blue sub-pixel region 112, and the position of the green resistor 133 corresponds to the green sub-pixel region 113. Under the irradiation of white light, the red, blue and green resistors 131, 132 and 133 transmit red, blue and green light, respectively. Each color resistor corresponds to a TFT, and a via hole 134 is formed at a position corresponding to the drain electrode of the corresponding TFT.
The pixel electrode layer 14 is connected to the drain electrode 125 through the via hole 134. The material of the pixel electrode layer 14 may be a transparent metal oxide such as indium tin oxide (In2O3: Sn, ITO).
It will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that the TFT layer may also include other known structures, such as: data lines, scan lines, etc., and each TFT may also be a bottom gate structure. The COA type array substrate may also include other known structures such as: a black matrix layer, etc. The embodiment of the present application does not specifically limit the structure of the array substrate, and can be adaptively adjusted according to the needs.
Continuing to refer to fig. 3, the opposite substrate 2 is disposed on the light-emitting side of the lcd panel 100. The counter substrate 2 includes a second substrate 21 and a common electrode layer 22, the common electrode layer 22 is disposed on a side of the second substrate 21 close to the liquid crystal layer 3, the second substrate 21 is made of glass, and the common electrode layer 22 is made of ITO.
The Liquid Crystal layer 3 includes first Liquid Crystal molecules 31 and second Liquid Crystal molecules 32, wherein the first Liquid Crystal molecules 31 are close to the side of the array substrate 1 where the Alignment layer 4 is disposed, the second Liquid Crystal molecules 32 are close to the side of the opposite substrate 2 where the common electrode layer 22 is disposed, and the common electrode layer 22 is close to the side of the Liquid Crystal layer 3 where the Alignment layer is not disposed, and the material of the Liquid Crystal layer 3 is a Self-aligned Liquid Crystal (SA-LC) material. The first liquid crystal molecules 31 are initially aligned by the alignment layer 4 to form a first pretilt angle α, and the second liquid crystal molecules 32 are initially aligned under ultraviolet illumination to form a second pretilt angle β.
The first pretilt angle alpha is configured to be larger than the second pretilt angle beta so as to compensate the problem of abnormal liquid crystal molecule alignment caused by bending dislocation of the liquid crystal display panel, thereby improving the problem of black cluster. For curved displays with curvatures of 1500R and 1800R, satisfying the condition that the first pretilt α is larger than the second pretilt β can effectively improve the "black blob" problem. For high-order curved displays with curvatures of 800R and 1000R, satisfying the condition that the first pretilt angle α is larger than the second pretilt angle β alone does not effectively improve the "black blob" problem, because high-order curved displays generally require faster response speed, which requires satisfying the condition: after the light is aligned, the second pretilt angle β needs to be as small as possible to expand the power difference between the first pretilt angle α and the second pretilt angle β as much as possible, and preferably, the power difference between the first pretilt angle α and the second pretilt angle β is more than 1.8 degrees.
Further, the first pretilt α has a degree value of 2.4 degrees to 4 degrees, and the second pretilt β has a degree value of 0 degrees to 0.6 degrees.
In order to make the difference between the first pretilt angle α and the second pretilt angle β in degrees more than 1.8 degrees, the embodiment of the present application adopts the following technical means: an alignment layer is arranged on one side of the array substrate 1 close to the liquid crystal layer 3, and an alignment layer is not arranged on one side of the opposite substrate 2 close to the liquid crystal layer 3, wherein the alignment layer is made of a fast reaction type photo-alignment material; and, a self-alignment liquid crystal material having a slow angular rate is selected as a material of the liquid crystal layer, so that under the same photo-alignment condition, the angular rate of the first pretilt angle α is fast, and the angular rate of the second pretilt angle β is slow, thereby increasing the difference in degrees between the first pretilt angle α and the second pretilt angle β.
Further, the ultraviolet irradiation wavelength is 270nm to 380nm, and the ultraviolet irradiation intensity is 0.5mW/cm2To 0.7mW/cm2The difference between the angular rate of the first pretilt angle α and the angular rate of the second pretilt angle is equal to or greater than 30 seconds/degree to increase the difference in degrees between the first pretilt angle α and the second pretilt angle β as much as possible. For example: at a wavelength of 313 nm and an illumination intensity of 0.5mW/cm2The first pretilt α has an angular rate of 40 seconds/degree or more, and the second pretilt β has an angular rate of 70 seconds/degree or more (e.g., 70 seconds/degree to 130 seconds/degree).
Further, the material of the alignment layer is a polyimide-based compound having an imide ring as a main chain, and a side chain of the polyimide-based compound includes a reactive functional group to make an angle rate of the first pretilt angle α faster than an angle rate of the second pretilt angle β.
Further, the reactive functional group includes at least one of an unsaturated double bond, an unsaturated triple bond, a hydroxyl group, and an amino group.
Specifically, the material of the alignment layer is a fast-reacting photo-alignment material, which may be a commercially available photo-alignment polyimide, such as: a photoaligned polyimide available under the trade designation JSR2579 (available from JSR corporation), a photoaligned polyimide available under the trade designation Nissan4197 or Nissan 867 (available from Nissan chemical company). The fast reaction type photo-alignment material may also be self-prepared photo-alignment polyimide, the main chain of the photo-alignment polyimide is an imide ring, the high-density reaction group (such as a group containing an unsaturated bond) is added on the side chain to accelerate the angle forming rate, and the type and density of the reaction group are not particularly limited.
In the embodiment of the application, the self-aligned liquid crystal material is composed of liquid crystal molecules, a vertical alignment agent and a reactive monomer, wherein the liquid crystal molecules are nematic liquid crystal, and the vertical alignment agent has a structure shown in a formula (1):
the reactive monomer has a structure as shown in formula (2):
the experiment shows that when the wavelength is 313 nanometers and the illumination intensity is 0.5mW/cm2When the ultraviolet light is used for illumination alignment, the mass percentage concentration of the vertical alignment agent in the self-alignment liquid crystal material is 0.3-0.6%, the mass concentration of the reactive monomer in the self-alignment liquid crystal material is 2000-3000 ppm, and the angular rate of the second pretilt angle beta is slower than or equal to 70 seconds/degree. When the concentration of the vertical alignment agent in the self-aligned liquid crystal material is 0.6% by mass and the concentration of the reactive monomer in the self-aligned liquid crystal material is 3000ppm to 4000ppm by mass, the angular rate of the second pretilt angle β is in the range of 40 sec/degree to 70 sec/degree. When the vertical orientation agent is concentrated in the self-aligned liquid crystal materialThe degree is 0.6% to 0.9%, and the angular rate of the second pretilt angle beta is faster than or equal to 40 seconds/degree when the mass concentration of the reactive monomer in the self-aligning liquid crystal material is 4000ppm to 6000 ppm.
It should be noted that, when the material of the alignment layer is the above-mentioned fast-response photo-alignment material and the material of the liquid crystal layer is the above-mentioned self-aligned liquid crystal material, the angular rate of the second pretilt angle β is suppressed, for example: if the alignment layer is not arranged, the first liquid crystal and the second liquid crystal are self-aligned by means of illumination to form a pretilt angle, and the second pretilt angle beta angular rate is 70 seconds/degree to 95 seconds/degree; when an alignment layer (disposed only on the side of the liquid crystal layer close to the array substrate) of a fast response photo-alignment material exists, the second pretilt angle β is suppressed, i.e., 70 s/degree to 130 s/degree.
As will be understood by those skilled in the art, the liquid crystal display panel of the embodiment of the present application may further include some known structures, such as: a polarizer, a protective cover plate, a touch device and the like, which can be set by a person skilled in the art.
The application also provides a preparation method of the liquid crystal display panel, as shown in fig. 5, the preparation method comprises the following steps:
b1, providing an array substrate, a counter substrate and a self-aligned liquid crystal material, wherein the relative arrangement of the array substrate and the counter substrate is predefined.
Specifically, the array substrate is a COA type array substrate, the counter substrate is a substrate that does not include a color filter, and the array substrate and the counter substrate may be prepared by a known technique.
The self-alignment liquid crystal material is composed of liquid crystal molecules, a vertical alignment agent and a reactive monomer, wherein the liquid crystal molecules are nematic liquid crystal, the vertical alignment agent has a structure shown in a formula (1), and the reactive monomer has a structure shown in a formula (2). The mass percentage concentration of the vertical orientation agent in the self-alignment liquid crystal material is 0.3-0.6%, and the mass concentration of the reactive monomer in the self-alignment liquid crystal material is 2000-3000 ppm.
And B2, preparing and forming an alignment layer on one side of the array substrate.
Specifically, an alignment layer is formed by coating an alignment material on one side of the array substrate by a coating process. The alignment material may be a photo-alignment polyimide, such as a photo-alignment polyimide available under the trade designation JSR2579 (available from JSR corporation), a photo-alignment polyimide available under the trade designation Nissan4197 or Nissan 867 (available from Nissan chemical company).
And B3, injecting the self-alignment liquid crystal material between the array substrate and the opposite substrate.
Specifically, firstly, a self-alignment liquid crystal material is injected between the array substrate and the opposite substrate by adopting a liquid crystal Drop filling (ODF) method; then coating frame sealing glue on the periphery of the array substrate and/or the opposite substrate, and assembling and attaching the array substrate and the opposite substrate in a vacuum environment to enable the self-alignment liquid crystal material to be sealed between the array substrate and the opposite substrate; and finally, curing the frame sealing glue.
B4, right the liquid crystal material of automousing is joined in marriage and is taken the direction in order to form the liquid crystal layer, the liquid crystal layer includes first liquid crystal molecule and second liquid crystal molecule, first liquid crystal molecule is located the liquid crystal layer is close to one side of array substrate, the second liquid crystal molecule is located the liquid crystal layer is close to one side of opposition base plate, the acute angle contained angle that forms between the major axis of first liquid crystal molecule and the vertical direction is first pretilt angle, the acute angle contained angle that forms between the major axis of second liquid crystal molecule and the vertical direction is the second pretilt angle, just first pretilt angle is greater than the second pretilt angle.
Specifically, the adopted wavelength is 313 nanometers and the illumination intensity is 0.5mW/cm2The ultraviolet light performs optical alignment on the self-aligned liquid crystal material, and in the optical alignment process, the angular rate of the first pretilt angle alpha is faster than that of the second pretilt angle beta, so that the first pretilt angle alpha is larger than the second pretilt angle beta, and the degree difference between the first pretilt angle alpha and the second pretilt angle beta is more than 1.8 degrees.
Further, the difference between the angular rate of the first pretilt angle α and the angular rate of the second pretilt angle β is 30 seconds/degree toThe above. For example: the adopted wavelength is 313 nanometers and the illumination intensity is 0.5mW/cm2The first pretilt angle alpha is faster than or equal to 40 seconds/degree, and the second pretilt angle beta is slower than or equal to 70 seconds/degree.
The angular rate range of the second pretilt angle beta is preferably 70 seconds/degree to 130 seconds/degree, on one hand, the degree difference between the first pretilt angle alpha and the second pretilt angle beta is increased as much as possible, so that the average pretilt angle degree of all liquid crystal molecules is improved, and the response speed of the liquid crystal display panel is further improved; on the other hand, if the angle rate of the second pretilt angle β is lower than 130 seconds/degree, the alignment time is prolonged, and the alignment effect is not good.
Further, the first pretilt α has a degree of 2.4 to 4 degrees, and the second pretilt β has a degree of 0 to 0.6 degrees.
As shown in fig. 6, the curved-surface type display 1000 includes a liquid crystal display panel 100 and a backlight assembly 200, where the liquid crystal display panel 100 is any one of the liquid crystal display panels provided in the embodiments of the present application, or a liquid crystal display panel manufactured by the method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display panel provided in the embodiments of the present application. The backlight assembly 200 is disposed on a side of the liquid crystal display panel 100 away from the light-emitting side, and the backlight assembly 200 may be configured as a conventional curved display.
The curved-surface type display of the embodiment of the application can be applied to various electronic products with display functions, such as mobile phones, computers, digital cameras, digital video cameras, game machines, audio reproducing devices, information terminals, intelligent wearable devices, intelligent weighing electronic scales, vehicle-mounted displays, televisions and other products or components with display functions, wherein the intelligent wearable devices can be intelligent bracelets, intelligent watches, intelligent glasses and the like.
Test example 1
In the present test example, five liquid crystal display panels which were not subjected to photo alignment were tested, and the five liquid crystal display panels were respectively assigned to nos. 1 to 6.
The structural compositions of the numbers 1 to 4 are completely the same, and the specific structural compositions refer to the liquid crystal display panel disclosed in the embodiment of the present application (as shown in fig. 3 and 4). In nos. 1 to 4, the alignment layer is provided on the side of the array substrate close to the liquid crystal layer, the alignment layer is not provided on the side of the counter substrate close to the liquid crystal layer, and the alignment layer is made of a fast-response photo-aligned polyimide (JSR 2579). The materials of the liquid crystal layers in the numbers 1 to 4 are self-alignment liquid crystal materials, each self-alignment liquid crystal material is composed of liquid crystal molecules, a vertical alignment agent and a reactive monomer, wherein the liquid crystal molecules are nematic liquid crystal, the vertical alignment agent has a structure shown in the formula (1), the reactive monomer has a structure shown in the formula (2), the mass percentage concentration of the vertical alignment agent in the self-alignment liquid crystal material is 0.4%, and the mass concentration of the reactive monomer in the self-alignment liquid crystal material is 3000 ppm. In the present test example, the numbers 1 to 4 are different only in that: the photoalignment times are different.
The structural compositions of the numbers 5 and 6 are identical, and compared with the numbers 1 to 4, the differences between the numbers 5 and 6 are only that: the materials of the alignment layers are different, and the materials of the alignment layers numbered from 1 to 4 are all fast reaction type photo-alignment polyimide (JSR 2579); the alignment layer materials of No. 5 and No. 6 were both slow-reaction type photo-alignment polyimides (available from JSR corporation, commercial model number JSR 2503). In the present test example, the differences between the numbers 5 and 6 are only: the photoalignment times are different.
The self-aligned liquid crystal materials numbered 1 to 6 all have a wavelength of 313 nm and an illumination intensity of 0.5mW/cm2Wherein the photo-alignment times of the self-aligned liquid crystal materials of nos. 1 to 6 correspond to 40 seconds, 50 seconds, 60 seconds, 80 seconds, 70 seconds and 80 seconds, respectively. After the self-aligned liquid crystal materials of nos. 1 to 5 complete the photo-alignment, the first pretilt angle α, the second pretilt angle β and the difference in degrees between the first pretilt angle α and the second pretilt angle β of nos. 1 to 5 are measured, respectively, and the results are detailed in table 1 below:
table 1 test results of nos. 1 to 5
As can be seen from the test results in table 1, in nos. 1 to 4, the first pretilt angle α is greater than the second pretilt angle β, and as the light irradiation time is prolonged, although both the first pretilt angle α and the second pretilt angle β are increased, the increase of the second pretilt angle β is not as great as that of the first pretilt angle α, so that the difference in degrees between the first pretilt angle α and the second pretilt angle β is greater, and when the light irradiation time reaches 80 seconds, the difference in degrees between the first pretilt angle α and the second pretilt angle β reaches 1.84, thereby effectively improving the "black cloud" problem. In nos. 5 and 6, selecting a slow-reaction type photo-alignment material as the material of the alignment layer and using a self-aligning liquid crystal material having a slow angle of angulation as the material of the liquid crystal layer causes the first pretilt angle α to be smaller than the second pretilt angle β, which is not favorable for improving the "black cluster" problem.
Test example 2
In the present test example, three liquid crystal display panels are used for the test, and the three liquid crystal display panels correspond to the numbers 7 to 9, respectively.
The structures of nos. 7 to 9 are all the same, and refer to the liquid crystal display panel disclosed in the embodiment of the present application (as shown in fig. 3 and 4). In nos. 7 to 9, the alignment layer is provided on the side of the array substrate close to the liquid crystal layer, and the alignment layer is not provided on the side of the counter substrate close to the liquid crystal layer, and the alignment layers are all made of fast-response photo-aligned polyimide (JSR 2579).
In the numbers 7 to 9, the materials of the liquid crystal layer are all self-alignment liquid crystal materials, and the self-alignment liquid crystal materials are composed of liquid crystal molecules, a vertical alignment agent and a reactive monomer, wherein the liquid crystal molecules are nematic liquid crystal, the vertical alignment agent has a structure shown in the formula (1), and the reactive monomer has a structure shown in the formula (2). For the self-aligned liquid crystal materials No. 7 to No. 9The wavelength is 313 nanometers and the illumination intensity is 0.5mW/cm2The number 7 to the number 9 were respectively 30 seconds, 60 seconds and 80 seconds. The numbers 7 to 9 differ only in that: the mass percentage concentrations of the vertical orientation agents in the self-alignment liquid crystal material are different, and the mass concentrations of the reactive monomers are different, and the mass percentages are as follows:
in No. 7, the mass percentage concentration of the vertical alignment agent in the self-aligned liquid crystal material was 0.9%, and the mass concentration of the reactive monomer in the self-aligned liquid crystal material was 5000 ppm.
In code 8, the mass percentage concentration of the vertical alignment agent in the self-aligned liquid crystal material was 0.6%, and the mass concentration of the reactive monomer in the self-aligned liquid crystal material was 4000 ppm.
In No. 9, the mass percentage concentration of the vertical alignment agent in the self-aligned liquid crystal material was 0.4%, and the mass concentration of the reactive monomer in the self-aligned liquid crystal material was 3000 ppm.
After the liquid crystal layers of nos. 7 to 9 have completed photo-alignment, the first pretilt angle α, the second pretilt angle β, and the difference in degrees between the first pretilt angle α and the second pretilt angle β of nos. 7 to 9 are measured, respectively, and the results are detailed in table 2 below:
table 2 test results of nos. 7 to 9
As can be seen from table 2, the fast reaction type photo-alignment material (the first pretilt α has an angular velocity faster than 40 seconds/degree) is selected as the material of the alignment layer in number 9, and the self-aligned liquid crystal material with a slow angular velocity (the second pretilt β has an angular velocity slower than or equal to 70 seconds/degree) is used as the material of the liquid crystal layer, so that the first pretilt α is larger than the second pretilt β, the second pretilt β has a smaller degree, and the difference between the degrees of the first pretilt α and the second pretilt β reaches 1.84, thereby significantly improving the problem of "black lumps". In No. 8, although the first pretilt α is larger than the second pretilt β, the difference in degrees between the first pretilt α and the second pretilt β is small, so that the effect of improving the "black blob" problem is limited. In the reference 7, using a fast-response photo-alignment material (the first pretilt α is faster than 40 sec/degree) as the material of the alignment layer, and using a self-aligned liquid crystal material with a fast angle (the second pretilt β is faster than 40 sec/degree) as the material of the liquid crystal layer, causes the first pretilt α to be smaller than the second pretilt β, which is not favorable for improving the "black cloud" problem.
Test example 3
The test example has two curved-surface type displays to participate in the test, the two curved-surface type displays correspond to the number 10 and the number 11 respectively, and the curvatures of the number 10 and the number 11 are both R1000.
The backlight assemblies numbered 10 and 11 are identical, but the liquid crystal display panels numbered 10 and 11 are different. The structural composition of the liquid crystal display panel numbered 10 refers to the liquid crystal display panel disclosed in the examples of the present application (as shown in fig. 3 and 4), wherein the materials of the alignment layers of the liquid crystal display panel numbered 10 are all fast reaction type photo-alignment polyimide (JSR2579), and the self-alignment liquid crystal material is the same as the number 9 of the experimental example 2. The liquid crystal display panel No. 11 is distinguished from the liquid crystal display panel No. 10 only in that: 1. the distribution of the alignment layers is different; 2. the materials of the alignment layers are different; 3. the material of the liquid crystal layer is different.
Specifically, in the liquid crystal display panel of No. 11, the liquid crystal layer of the array substrate is not provided with an alignment layer, the liquid crystal layer of the counter substrate is provided with an alignment layer, and the alignment layer is made of slow-response photo-alignment polyimide (JSR 2503). The liquid crystal layer material in the liquid crystal display panel of number 11 is the same as that of number 7 in experimental example 2, so that the liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal layer on the side close to the array substrate are self-aligned.
The self-aligned liquid crystal materials of No. 10 and No. 11 both used a wavelength of 313 nm and an illumination intensity of 0.5mW/cm2The ultraviolet light is used for illumination alignment, and the optical alignment time is 80 seconds. After the self-aligned liquid crystal materials of No. 10 and No. 11 were photo-aligned, the No. 10 and No. 11 were measured, respectively11 first pretilt α, second pretilt β and the difference in degrees between first pretilt α and second pretilt β, the results are detailed in table 3 below:
TABLE 3 test results of Nos. 10 and 11
As can be seen from the test results in table 3, in both number 10 and number 11, the first pretilt angle α is greater than the second pretilt angle β, but the second pretilt angle β of number 10 is significantly smaller than the second pretilt angle β of number 11, and the difference in degrees between the first pretilt angle α and the second pretilt angle β in number 10 is more significant than that of number 11, the reason for the difference being that: compared with an opposite substrate, the topography of the array substrate is complex, if an alignment layer is not arranged on one side of the array substrate close to the liquid crystal layer, liquid crystal molecules on one side close to the array substrate are only formed into a film by self-alignment, the thickness uniformity of the formed film is not as good as that of the alignment layer, and therefore, the display quality is not affected. As can be seen from fig. 7 and 8, when the number 10 is operated, the brightness of each region is consistent, and no "black cluster" is generated; when the number 11 is operated, the brightness of each region is not consistent, and the regions on both sides have black lumps.
